CLASSES TAUGHT
Nick is a Certified Master Gardener from the Cooperative Extension System of the University of Connecticut, and past head Master Gardener of Vegetables, Brambles and Fruit Frees at Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford, CT. He is a lecturer and consultant that specializes in Vegetables, Brambles and Espaliered Fruit Trees, and his usage of earth friendly fertilizers, pest control, recyclable materials and complementary resources discarded by the sea will be implemented on this Hands-On Approach Course. Mr. Mancini also works with the children at the Kathryn Croaning Child Development Laboratory School at Norwalk Community College developing an organic garden where the children are introduced to the different vocabulary associated with gardening as well as the skills of planting, weeding and harvesting crops. Last year, he worked with the preschool children with respect and a genuine love of the work of a Master Gardener. The children gained so much from the experience as testimony written by one of the teachers in the program: “This year the children at CDLS were fortunate enough to have “Farmer Nick” be part of their learning experience. Nick Mancini would promptly arrive every Monday morning to help the children plant an organic garden on the playground. He taught the children about preparing the soil, planting the seeds, and maintaining the garden. His kind, gentle nature quickly earned him celebrity status with the children. There was constant talk about Farmer Nick and the children were so proud to see the growth that occurred in the garden. This was a wonderful learning experience for the children at CDLS.” If you wish to have Nick Mancini offer a seminar, course or workshop on organic gardening, please contact him at: nick@OrganicGardeningSimplified.com
